Tourism Satellite Account - 'Satellite Accounts' concentrate on particular topic within Australia's National Accounts. Tourism is not identified as an industry by the ABS, industries are defined on the basis of the goods and services they produce, whereas tourism is defined according to the consumer, in the case of tourism the consumer is a "visitor". A visitor is defined as "a traveller taking a trip to a main destination outside their usual environment, for less than a year, for business, leisure or personal purpose other than to be employed by a resident entity in the place visited". For a summary of the 2008-09 Tourism Satellite Account and a link to the full report click here.

Tourism Research Australia  - Tourism Research Australia is a business unit of Tourism Australia providing research information that supports decision making, marketing and tourism industry performance for the Australian community.

Sustainable Tourism Online - Developed by the former Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre, this website provides an interactive resource for tourism professionals and practitioners with free access to the Centre's research and tools and other trusted sources of information.

The site will be updated regularly with new research, data and tools in three main areas: Destinations and Communities; Business Operations; and Parks and Culture as well as broader sustainable tourism themes.

The STCRC reports remain available for free download from the bookshop and a range of tools and products are also available.

Bureau of Statistics - The ABS provides statistics on a wide range of economic and social matters, serving government, business and the general population, as well as producing statistics on a range of tourism related activities.
