Great news! The SATIC website has the capability for you to ‘chat’ online to other SATIC members.
So, how do you this?
Firstly, you’ll need to create some connections with other SATIC members. Then, when you’re both online, you can chat in real-time. Here is the step-by-step procedure:
1. Ensure you log-in with your username and password every time you visit the SATIC website.
2. Once logged in, click on the Community menu tab and you can view who else is currently online in the left-hand menu.
3. You can view online users by clicking on their profile, try it with your own username and any others that are online too. It is here you will be able to learn more about each member.
Making Connections
4. If you know someone else who is online or someone that you’d like to make a business connection with, click on their username. (From the Community section, you will also be able to conduct a User Search to find other members not currently online.)
5. Once your selected profile comes up, select the “Connections” tab, then “Request a Connection”.
6. A message will then be sent to that user to accept or decline the pending connection request.
7. Once they accept you, you will have the ability to online chat with them when you are both online. You can also email people you are connected with to contact them if they are not online at the same time as you.
8. You can manage all of your connections from your own user profile, by selecting “Connections”, then “Manage your Connections”. This will enable you to see all of your connections and put any special comments alongside each one.
Online Chat
9. Now every time you are logged in to the SATIC website you have the option to chat to other SATIC members in real time.
10. To find out who is online, look at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen where it says “Online Friends” and the number of your connections that are currently online. Click on this box.
11. A box will pop-up showing you the names of your connections that are currently online. Click on the name of the person that you would like to chat to.
12. Another box will pop-up to initiate the online conversation. Start typing in the smaller box and click “submit” or press Enter.
13. Your message will be sent to the other user...then just wait for their response. (A history of your conversation will be recorded in the larger box at the top.)
14. Needless to say, the more connections you make, the more people you will have to chat with.
15. We recommend you have a play with it to become more familiar. You are more than welcome to practice ‘chatting’ with any of the SATIC team – Ward, Bianca, Jade, Anneliese or Akarra. Good luck and we look forward to seeing you online.
