SATIC Staff

Ward Tilbrook, Chief Executive

Ward has been involved in the tourism industry for over 20 years. His experience includes operations, sales and marketing of Australian tourism product to strategic and senior management level in state, national and international markets.

He has a wide range of experience from backpacking to the luxury accommodation sector, as well as the group-touring sector in Australia and the USA.

Previously Ward was the Manager of the South Australian Tourism Accreditation Board, which focused on industry standards and quality assurance practices. Ward was a key player in forming the South Australian Tourism Industry Council in 2009.

 

Bianca Borrett, Communications & Business Development Manager

Bianca is responsible for coordinating an effective communications strategy, successfully planning and managing the SATIC's events program, developing partnerships contributing to SATIC's growth and development and overall building SATIC's membership.

Bianca comes to her role with over ten years experience in the industry, previously with the South Australian Tourism Commission, in a number of positions including Ministerial Liaison, Public Relations and as the South Australian Tourism Awards Manager.

Bianca has also completed an Advanced Diploma of Tourism with TAFESA and a Bachelor of Management from the University of South Australia.

 

Chloe Camilleri, Seminar & Events Coordinator

Chloe is responsible for developing, coordinating and promoting SATIC training seminars, small business education opportunities and member networking events in Adelaide and regionally.

Chloe joins SATIC after living and travelling through New Zealand. In her previous role with Advantage SA (formally SA Great), Chloe has a depth of experience in program management and coordination of both awards programs and events.

Chloe is currently undertaking a Diploma of Public Relations with Open Universities. 

 

 

Jade Colwell, Industry Development Manager - (on maternity leave)

Jade is reponsible for the implementation, delivery and maintenance of the various accreditation and certification programs for tourism operators in South Australia.

Jade has completed a Bachelor of Cultural Tourism, a Bachelor of Education and is a qualified auditor for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001). She has been working with the SA Tourism Industry Council (previously the SA Tourism Accreditation Board) since 2006.

 

 

 

Jayne Cooney, Industry Programs Coordinator

Filling in for Jade while she is on maternity leave, Jayne works every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday. Jayne originally hails from the mid north of SA and has been involved in the tourism industry over the past 15 years. She studied at TAFESA and has an Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management.

Jayne has worked for the SA Tourism Commission, based in North America, and on her return to Australia became a travel agent in country SA & Horsham, Victoria and has also been a destination specialist for Outback Encounter. Two gorgeous children have kept her busy for the last few years, but she has also assisted local businesses with their Tourism Awards submissions and tourism accreditation during this time.

  

Akarra Klingberg, Office Coordinator and Executive Assistant

Akarra joined SATIC after living in Ireland and Germany and travelling extensively throughout Europe and the UK. Akarra completed a Bachelor of Cultural Tourism at Flinders University.

Akarra is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Chief Executive, our financial management and coordinating the SATIC Board meetings and working groups. She is also instrumental in providing support to the accreditation program and maintaining content on our website.

 

 

 

Anneliese Powell, Tourism Awards Coordinator

Anneliese is responsible for coordinating the South Australian Tourism Awards, which aims to publicly highlight the best tourism product that South Australia has to offer. She brings enthusiasm to the role and can provide businesses with advice on entering the Tourism Awards.

Anneliese comes to SATIC having travelled throughout North America, UK and Europe working for inbound and outbound wholesalers in sales, marketing and product development. In her previous role with the Department of Health, Anneliese has experience in program management and the coordination of eductional training for the SA Ambulance Service.

Anneliese also has an Advanced Diploma of Tourism and a Bachelor of Management.

 

Aleisha Walker, Industry Placement Student

Aleisha is an industry placement student from UniSA working with SATIC each Wednesday for 20 weeks.

 

John Myers, Quality Assurance Auditor

Principal Director John Myers & Associates, Tourism Marketing

After a long career in the South Australian Tourism Commission where he held many management positions in sales, publicity, marketing, publications, new product development, sector development and operator assistance, John established ‘John Myers & Associates’ - a tourism marketing consultancy in 1996. John brings his extensive experience in the tourism industry to assist businesses in achieving tourism accreditation. John has been conducting onsite accreditation audits since March 2003, to assist the SA Tourism Industry Council in maintaining the standards of the tourism accreditation program.

John is a qualified auditor for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) as well as a judge for the State Tourism Awards and a Board Member of Hosted Accommodation Australia
