With Australia's carbon price coming into effect in July, this one-day conference will take a frank look at the challenges and opportunities for tourism operators.
Facing a unique policy landscape, Australian tourism can gain a competitive edge by developing genuinely sustainable tourism experiences and marketing them effectively. But it will require a strategic approach and coordination through the supply chain.
Ahead of the Australian Tourism Awards, Qantas will convene policymakers, business leaders and marketers to identify how the industry should position itself in the low-carbon economy.
The inaugural Qantas Sustainable Tourism Summit promises to be a thought-provoking, agenda-setting event that addresses the issue of Australian tourism sustainability in its national and global context.

The Qantas Australian Tourism Awards are the tourism industry's largest and most prestigious event. They acknowledge and celebrate Australia's tourism operators that have demonstrated excellence and outstanding achievement.
