Important Information

 

 

By reading the Introduction to the Tourism Awards program on the E-Awards Home page and clicking the tick box for understanding the entry conditions, the entrant agrees to complete nomination details and pay their relevant entry fee. The person submitting nomination details, hereby after referred to as the entrant, agrees to the following:

The entrant agrees to complete their submission in accordance with the Rules for Entry and upload a pdf version to the e-awards portal Nominations for the 2012 SA Tourism Awards are now open.


 The Winners will be announced at the South Australian Tourism Awards Presentation Ceremony & Gala Dinner, to be held on Friday, 23 November, 2012 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

 

Key Dates:

The entrant agrees to complete nomination details and pay their relevant entry fee by 5.00pm Friday, 6 July 2012.

The entrant agrees to complete their submission in accordance with the ‘Rules for Entry’ and upload a pdf version of it to the E-Awards portal - Categories 1 – 14: due by 12noon, 20 August 2012; Categories 15 – 29 (excluding category 27): due by 5pm, 20 August 2012.

Submissions received after these times and dates according to which category you entered, will not be considered for judging. 

 

Nomination Fees

The judging of the South Australian Tourism Awards is coordinated by the South Australian Tourism Industry Council (SATIC). SATIC is a not-for-profit membership organisation.

Nomination fees:

            $190.00 per nomination for SATIC members  (non-refundable, GST inclusive)

            $290.00 per nomination for non-SATIC members*  (non-refundable, GST inclusive) 

 

The nomination fee for the South Australian Tourism Awards includes:

  • Awards industry workshops
  • State judging panel meetings
  • National awards judging process
  • State-wide on-site visit assessments
  • Co-ordination and administration
  • Appointment of independant auditor (KPMG)

 

*FREE ACCREDITATION WITH TOURISM AWARDS ENTRY IN 2012 for non-Accredited Entrants

For the first time we are giving the opportunity for all non-accredited Tourism Awards entrants to become tourism accredited; as the accreditation registration fee (usually from $250) will be included in the Awards nomination fee. Once the entrant becomes a tourism accredited business they will also be a member of the South Australian Tourism Industry Council and be T-QUAL endorsed.

 

Keeping it fair 

To ensure consistency and fairness in judging, the rules for entry must be strictly met.
Failure to follow the rules of entry may attract a deduction of up to 13 points. 

Note: In some categories the competition is very close and the deduction of any points could be the difference between winning and losing 

 

Site Inspections and Judging

The award’s judging is coordinated by the South Australian Tourism Awards. Please direct all enquiries regarding judging to Anneliese Powell, Awards Coordinator on (08) 8110 0127 or awards@satic.com.au.

Judging will take place from July to October 2012. Entrants will be contacted to arrange a suitable date and time for a site inspection to occur. Please take note that the site visit assessors will be judging in their own time and do not get paid to judge for the Tourism Awards program. Entrants must be available for Judges to site visit/stay, if required, on weekend days/evenings between July and October.

Professional auditors, KPMG Adelaide, oversee the South Australian Tourism Awards judging process. Their role is to audit submissions for compliance, audit score sheets and check conflicts of interest and confidentiality declarations.

As a condition of entry, you will be required to provide your product/service on a complimentary basis if a judge’s visitation is required for your category of entry.

 

Our assurance

All information submitted is strictly confidential. All persons, for example tourism awards coordinators and judges, who may come into contact with your submission, are each required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

 

Delivery

NO HARD COPIES of submissions will be accepted.

Late entries will not be accepted.

 

Disclaimer

The South Australian Tourism Industry Council, National Tourism Alliance (NTA), organising coordinators, project managers, event managers, members of the judging committees, sponsors, transport companies and the like can not be held responsible for any damages and/or loss of materials that are submitted as an entry to regional, state or national judging. It is recommended that copies/duplicates and not original supporting documentation be provided.

By entering the South Australian Tourism Awards competition you authorise the use and/or reproduction of images and the 100 word description provided in relation to any editorial/advertising purposes initiated in conjunction with the 2012 South Australian Tourism Awards and the 2012 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. 

Your contact details may also be supplied to agencies engaged on behalf of award organisers/committees for promotional purposes.

Under no circumstances will judges be held responsible for any comment, viewpoint or expression, whether expressed or implied, concerning the standard or quality of an entrant’s submission. By signing the entry disclaimer you agree not to bring a claim against any judge or the South Australian Tourism Industry Council in relation to feedback on your submission. 

 

Judges’ decision

The decision of the South Australian and Qantas Australian Tourism Awards Judging Panel is final. Any grievance should be forwarded to the attention of: Anneliese Powell, Awards Coordinator, South Australian Tourism Industry Council, GPO Box 2071, Adelaide SA 5001.
