GENERAL INFORMATION

The South Australian Tourism Industry Council are proud to present the South Australian Regional Tourism Awards , which form part of the South Australian and Australian Tourism Awards. The Awards process aims to recognise and promote excellence in tourism.

AWARDS PROCESS

Entrants select a category best suited to their business and is to address criteria for questions relating to their business, in a 15 page document. The submission must be uploaded online, no hard copies will be accepted in 2010.

The accommodation entrants will also be judged by a site visit.The purpose of the site visit is two-fold; verification of claims made within the submission (for example, sighting of risk management policy) and testing of the experience. The site visit will be pre-arranged and the judges have a proforma from which they work.

KEEPING IT FAIR

To ensure consistency and fairness in judging, the 'Rules for Entry' must be strictly met. Failure to follow the rules of entry may attract a deduction of up to 15 points.

Note: in some categories the competition is very close and the deduction of any points could be the difference between winning and losing.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All information submitted is strictly confidential. All persons, for example tourism award coordinators and judges who may come into contact with your submission are each required to sign a confidentiality agreement. The judging panel members are also required to disclose any conflicts of interest they may have with entrants.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

Please check and diarise the 'Key Dates' for nominations and submissions for your region, do not leave it until the last moment to organise your entry. Late entries will not be accepted.

FEEDBACK

The Regional Tourism Office, South Australian Tourism Industry Council and regional Judging Panel are committed to providing all entrants with detailed and specific feedback on their site visit and submission.

JUDGES' DECISION

The decision of the Judging Panel is final. Any grievance should be forwared to the attention of: Anneliese Powell, Awards & Events Coordinator, GPO 2071, Adelaide, SA, 5001.

AWARDS PRESENTATION DINNER

The presentation evening for your region's tourism awards will be held in May/June 2010. Further details on the presentation and results will be advertised by your Regional Tourism Office and the South Australian Tourism Industry Council, with booking details sent to you in the coming months.

ENTRY DISCLAIMER

The Regional Tourism Office, South Australian Tourism Industry Council, organising coordinators, events managers, members of the judging committees, and the like, can not be held responsible for any damages, loss of materials that are submitted as an entry to regional judging.

Under no circumstances will judges by held responsible for any comment, viewpoint or expression, whether expressed or implied, concerning the standard or quality of an entrant's submission.

By entering a submission, the entrant agrees not to bring any claim against any of the judges, Regional Tourism Office or the South Australian Tourism Industry Council in relation to judges' feedback on their submission. In addition, entrants also agree that judges's decisions are final and that no correspondance will be entered into concerning such decisions.
