To do this, the climate change vulnerability of each destination was assessed, with a focus on the potential impacts on tourism infrastructure, activities and operational costs. Summary chapters highlighting key research, findings and recommendations for each of the case study regions are included in this document.

Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme - The Federal Government is strongly committed to reducing Australia’s carbon pollution. The Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) will commence on 1 July 2011, and it will guarantee that Australia meets its expanded emissions reductions of as much as 25 per cent of 2000 levels by 2020. A range of measures will be put in place to assist business and households to adjust to the carbon price. A range of fact sheets can also be found on this site.

Tourism Australia's research is currently indicating that climate change concerns are not considered by consumers when planning a holiday - however high numbers of travellers state that they might or will definitely take these issues into account in the near future. So right now is the tourism industry's opportunity to beat the trend.
